Formats

The conference offers 2 formats:

i. plenary channel with keynotes, plenary discussions, plenary voting and surveys and
ii. group channels with roundtables, discussion groups and networking.

Program

You can participate all half days or only those you choose. Each half day comprises 3 (to 4) hours. The technology we use will be easily accessible, free of barriers, and intuitive. The recording of the conference proceedings of the plenary channel is available during the conference and for the whole week after, for participants only.

We want to contribute to the current situation as «responsible science» and stimulate discussion on relevant issues for policy, practice and research.

First half day, September 1, 2020 (3pm CEST*)

COVID-19; Crisis in Society and Impact on Education around the World

Themes of the keynotes and the plenary discussions are: national and international monitoring of the current school situation due to COVID-19, e.g. school leadership as management of crisis, teams and digitalisation. Group discussions will be facilitated.

Second half day, September 2, 2020 (3pm CEST*)

Practices of Education Leadership around the World

Themes of the keynotes and the plenary discussions are: research and monitoring of the profession of school leadership, challenges and solutions in school leadership in different countries. Group discussions will be facilitated.

Third half day, September 3, 2020 (3pm CEST*)

Research on Education Leadership around the World

A variety of short research based presentations are provided. Different discussion forums will be organized. Group discussions will be facilitated.

Fourth half day/Vierter Halbtag, September 4, 2020 (German-speaking/deutschsprachig) (3pm CEST*)

Lessons Learnt aus WELSonline 2020

Erste Runde: COVID-19 und Schulschliessung – Was ist geblieben? Digitalisierung, Individualisierung, Differenzierung, Krisenmanagement und Wissensmanagement

Zweite Runde: Schulleitungsforschung und Schulleitungspraxis – Internationale Perspektiven

In jeder der beiden Runden fasst ein Plenumsvortrag die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse der vergangenen drei Tage zusammen. Im anschliessenden Podiumsgespräch mit Vertreterinnen und Vertretern von Verbänden, nationalen und internationalen Agenturen und weiteren Partnern werden aus der Perspektive unterschiedlicher Akteursgruppen Konsequenzen für zukünftige Entwicklungen diskutiert. Zudem werden Gruppendiskussionen arrangiert.
